Bike Auckland are delighted to announce that Fiáin d’Leafy (previously known as Macaila) has been appointed to the position of Chief Biking Officer for Bike Auckland.  Fiáin is well known in our biking community through their amazing contributions with Bike Burbs as our Community Activation Manager.

Originally from the Waikato, Fiáin has long held an interest in climate and cycling advocacy, joining the Kirikiriroa Generation Zero team while they were completing their Bachelor of Environmental Planning. Serendipitously, they first heard about Skypath from a presentation by Rod Oram during Generation Zero’s What’s the Hold Up Tour in 2013. Nine years later and they are still campaigning for greater accessibility across our Harbour.

Fiáin has been Bike Auckland’s Community Activation Manager for close to two years, connecting with diverse communities across Tāmaki Makaurau and facilitating bike burbs to drive advocacy and modeshift. They believe strongly in the power of community-led action to make positive change for a more sustainable, liveable, and inclusive region.

Fiáin’s vision for Bike Auckland focuses on inclusion, collaboration, and celebrating everyone’s uniqueness; reflecting and embracing the multicultural and diverse population of Tāmaki Makaurau. They believe in our community’s collaborative power to create the change we want to see; “Together we are stronger… Together we are unbreakable.”

Please join us in congratulating Fiáin on their new position.
