Bike Breakfasts are an increasingly popular way for Auckland bicycle peeps to kick off the day. Now there’s an option for winding down the day in just the right way: a leisurely ride to the pub for a craft brew with some chums.
If that sounds like you, pencil in 5.30pm on the evening of Thursday, 18 October. That’s the first of Bike Auckland’s new Bikes & Beers events, hosted by Brothers Beer at the City Works Depot. We promise convivial company, great beers, and a bonus: a free bike check thanks to Flying Fix Mobile Bicycle Servicing – which will be on site to minister to your treadlie while you minister to your thirst.
And if you’re a Bike Auckland member you get a further bonus: your first beer is free, courtesy of Brothers Beer. Not yet a Bike Auckland member? Join us now!
Can’t make the 18th? No worries — Bikes & Beers will be held from 5:30pm on the third Thursday of every month. Head to the Bikes & Beers Facebook page for the details.
This month’s launch of Bikes & Beers is part of Biketober, Auckland’s springtime celebration of all things cycling, hosted by Bike Auckland. Check out the full Biketober calendar for a huge range of bicycle activities, all October long.
PS Biking home through Grey Lynn the same night? You might want to check out Beers, Burgers, and Brioche – brought to you by the Grey Lynn Project to celebrate the future possibilities of the neighbourhood. People on bikes are actively and warmly welcomed – and with the streetscape designs soon to go back out to public discussion, this is a perfect opportunity to show how buzzy a bike-friendly neighbourhood can be.
