Bike Kaipatiki – a shore thing!

Bike Auckland

Where’s Kaipatiki? You may also know it as Beach Haven, Birkenhead, Chatswood, Birkdale, Northcote Peninsula, Glenfield, Hillcrest and Marlborough.

This Sunday 20th March, from 10am–2pm, Bike Kaipatiki is hosting a picnic at Onepoto Domain. Come and meet like-minded folk who want to help make Kaipatiki a great place to ride a bike.

Onepoto is not only a gorgeous location for a picnic, there’s a kids’ cycle track where the little ones can bike around safely to their heart’s content.

There’ll be bike maintenance, giveaways of bike gear, coffee and treats. Plus, e-bike test rides! And the scoop on SeaPath, the Northcote Safe Cycle Routes and other upcoming good news in the area.

How to get there? You might like to try out the new shared path along the southern side of Onewa Rd, then cross over at the Lake/Queen intersection and make your way down via the styly Wave Bridge to the Domain. There are paths off Sylvan Ave, Exmouth Rd & Puawai Place too. Oh – you can also load the bikes/kids/lunch in the car – there’s quite a bit of parking. Looking forward to seeing you there. Tell your friends and neighbours too – the more the merrier.

For more details, check this page, and for all the news and chat, join Bike Kaipatiki’s Facebook group.
