Want to take people for a ride? Become a ride leader!

Bike Auckland

Fancy organizing rides for groups, whether wee neighbourhood jaunts or big adventures further afield? Then you’ll want to know about a great workshop this Sunday that will tell you everything you need to know about becoming a ride leader.

It’s a small-group workshop, and there are a couple of places left, so be quick! (Also looks like a chance for a nice ride around Roskill’s great paths.)

More details below. To grab a spot, email Jena on: jena.western@at.govt.nz or call 021 72 0153

We are hosting a Ride Leader Workshop Sunday 26 June 9:30am-3pm in Mt. Roskill.

Cycling NZ originally started the programme for bunch rides, and over the past couple of years they’ve done a great job of adapting that information for social community rides. The workshops have helped to build up a great social ride network in Tauranga and Hamilton.

Who’s the workshop for? Anyone who wants to know how to run a group ride – including those already running social rides and those just starting out. Whether you’re planning a 3km ride or a 30km ride, this workshop is designed to give support and information on Health and Safety, group management, some info on instructing others in cycle skills, etc. It’s a great mash-up and a lot of fun.

PS The morning session is classroom based, and the afternoon is practical out on the bike.
