Monthly Meetings

DutchbikeslineupLast Thursday of the month at 6pm (except December and January).

As well as taking care of nitty-gritty committee business, at our monthly meetings we often host speakers or run social events.

For more info about these events, including our springtime AGM and the annual Christmas get-together, keep an eye on the events calendar on our homepage and our Facebook page.

The Pioneer Women’s Hall in Freyberg Square is being refurbished, so we’ve been meeting at the (not so) Secret Library upstairs at The Original, on the Viaduct. It’s handy to Britomart and the Quay St Cycleway, and we have valet bike parking for the big events.

Bike Breakfasts

First Thursday of the month, 7.30am – 9-ish.

Our Bike Breakfasts are a more casual ‘early bird’ monthly gathering. This is a relaxed way to find out what Bike Auckland is about, share your ideas for improving life on two wheels, and find out if you can help out on a specific project. Everyone’s welcome to come along and enjoy a coffee with others who are passionate about making Auckland a great city to get around on bike. (You don’t even have to arrive on a bike!)

The wonderful Scarecrow Kitchen on the corner of Victoria Street East and Kitchener Street. Sometimes there’s bike parking right outside – otherwise, the nearest bike parking is in Lorne Street or outside the Art Gallery.

Bike Rides

Epic events we’ve produced or collaborated on in the last year or so include the Bike Gang Challenge at Open Streets 2015, and Open Streets K Road 2016; a pop-up bike love-in at the Northcote Tavern; the fabulous vintage Sunday Best Ride; the First Hoon along Nelson St, and the Pink Path First Birthday Party.

And we’re always happy to help spread the word about independently organized bike events all over the city – like the Bike Raves and Matariki Rides and Kidical Massive and Frocks on Bikes expeditions (so many frocks! not to mention the Spokes Ladies!) and Cargo Bike Picnics, and all sorts of great ways to have fun on your bike.

Know of any upcoming events, planning one, or just had one? We’re all ears – please get in touch so we can add it to the calendar and/or share the photos and the fun!
